Libertarian Party State Convention Flyer LPNY 2007 STATECON FLYER- 3/1/07 The 2007 Libertarian Party of New York State convention will be held Saturday, April 28th on Long Island at the Radisson Hotel in Holtsville at exit 63 of the Long Island Expressway. There are no parking charges. This is convenient to Islip/MacArthur Airport. The Long Island Railroad stops at Ronkonkoma (8 miles away). A block of rooms at a special rate of $109 is being held by the hotel until 2 weeks before. Convention runs from 9am to 6pm. Tentative schedule:

9:00 am–12 Registration. A continental breakfast will be served. Business session is free. Only LPNY members as of 12/31/06 may vote. Dues must be paid between September 1st.2006 and April 28th , 2007. 9:00 am to 9:30am Suffolk and Nassau members will hold their county conventions, gathering at tables for that purpose, while others are free to socialize.

9:45 am Convention greeting from Chair. Called to order. Awards if any will be presented. 9:45am – noon LPNY Business session

Buffet lunch will be served from noon to 1:15. We will hear from former Judge Ira Raab, elected with Libertarian Party support. Our keynote speaker will be “hip hop entrepreneur” Reginald Jones on the topic “Let America Be Free.”

VIP Table seating with the keynote speaker. First come, first served $80 before April 1st, $100 after.

Regular lunch and afternoon speakers $60 before April 1st, $80 after.

Speakers only (no lunch) $30 before April 1st, $50 after.

Speakers including presidential candidates from 1:15 to 5:30. From 5:30 to 6pm the 2007-08 State Committee will meet. Those who wish to observe can do so and others can socialize. Confirmed speakers include: Steve Beery, proprietor of Mr. Beery’s in Bethpage, NY on “Tavern Tyranny” on alcohol and tobacco regulation and his defiance of the smoking ban. John Cain, while holding public office wore a wire to expose political corruption. Rev. Fred Jenkins, pastor of St. Luke’s Pentecostal Church, victims of government abuse. State Chair Cooper will speak on what Libertarians did for the church in their eminent domain case. Donald Silberger, SUNY-New Paltz professor and former candidate on the role of the LP Jim Lesczynski, on “Raising Libertarian Kids In A Non-Libertarian World”
