Mark N. Axinn (born February 28, 1956) is an attorney and Libertarian activist. He was Chair of the Libertarian Party of New York from 2010 to 2015. Prior to that, he was Vice-Chair from 2008 to 2010. He has been very active with leading statewide petitioning in New York. He has been the longtime Treasurer of the Manhattan Libertarian Party (c 2008 to 2020)

Biography

Career

Axinn studied at Columbia College (B.A., 1978) and Fordham Law School (J.D.). He is a partner at the Phillips Nizer law practice, in which he chairs the Cooperative and Condominium Practice Group.

Libertarian Party

Axinn join the Libertarian Party in the early 1990s and was involved in the New York City affiliate, serving as Secretary and Treasurer of the Manhattan Libertarian Party for several years.

In 2006, he served as Treasurer for Jeffrey Russell's 2006 U.S. Senate campaign. Starting in 2008, he was the Libertarian Party of New York's Paid Petitioning Coordinator for the petition drives to get Bob Barr (2008), Warren Redlich (2010), Gary Johnson (2012), Michael McDermott (2014), Gary Johnson (2016), and Larry Sharpe (2018) on the ballot.

From 2008 to 2010, he served two terms as Vice-Chair of the Libertarian Party of New York. In 2010, he was elected Chair of the Libertarian Party of New York and served five terms until he was succeeded in 2015 by Mark Glogowski.
